TRANSFORM 66 OUTSIDE THE BELTWAY

Fairfax, Virginia

Clearwater Construction is performing a variety of services for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway project which is slated to transform Northern Virginia’s Interstate 66 into a multi-modal corridor. The project is a public-private partnership between the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), and private partner, I-66 Express Mobility Partners, delivering $3.7 billion of transportation improvements in the I-66 corridor.

At the onset, Clearwater is responsible for the full construction of two bridges along the route, formally referred to as Segment 2, B606 Braddock Road and B637 Braddock Ramp. In addition, we are constructing substructure units on four bridges at the I-66/Route 28 interchange, known as B634, B639, B640, and B643. We are also responsible for various elements of geotechnical construction at the I-66/Route 50 interchange, including the installation of H-Piles including pre-drilling and testing, along with temporary support of excavation including sheet pile walls, soldier pile and lagging walls, and tiebacks. Clearwater is proud to be part of this groundbreaking P3 project and looks forward to continuing our relationship with VDOT, the I-66 Express Mobility Partners, and all parties involved with the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
